National Center for Medical Information and Knowledge(NCMIK)
The National Center for Medical Information and Knowledge (NCMIK), part of the National Institute of Health (NIH), Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), was established in 2014.
The NCMIK is a national hub for medical science information and knowledge that promotes access to its national knowledge base for better health, aims to reduce health disparities, and facilitates biomedical research in alignment with public access policies and open science.
Medical Library
Since 2014, NCMIK serves as a central hub for advancing national health promotion and evidence-based disease research by collecting, organizing, and preserving scholarly biomedical literature and related resources, while providing free access to scientific information services.
Books, Journals, and Multimedia
The library holds more than 150,000 items. Materials include biomedical literature, journals, multimedia materials, and other resources. Visitors can take advantage of facilities such as research carrels and the library workstations.
Web-Accessible Online Resources
NCMIK provides access to a wide range of online resources, including biomedical journal databases and research tools such as PubMed, PubMed Central, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science, all accessible via the web.
Korea Medical Article Service
The Korea Medical Article Service is a biomedical article indexing database that provides access to more than 900,000 abstracts from domestic biomedical journals, as well as full-text articles when available. Users can search abstracts and full texts using MeSH terms, author names, article and journal titles, keywords, or a combination of these.
Healthcare Archives
Access is provided to policy reports, guidelines, and R&D-related publications supported by government funding through the Healthcare Archive.
Medical Science Exhibition Hall
The Exhibition Hall presents an overview of Korea’s history and progress in disease control, public health through thoughtfully curated displays arranged in chronological and thematic order.
IT Training Room
NCMIK offers needs-based educational programs for KDCA staff and researchers. Topics include epidemiological methods, big data statistical analysis, and media training.
